I am a keen student of Natural Horsemanship and follow the Quantum Savvy Programme based on Release Focused Training (TM). I started of with a different programme, but found that it wasn’t for me. It didn’t suit my style of learning and my needs for support. I ended up abandoned the idea of pursuing Natural Horsemanship, that is until I came across Quantum Savvy.
Quantum Savvy and it’s teaching and learning strategies appealed to me, plus it is Australian, just like me, so any money I spent was staying right here. QS, as we call it for short, is situated in Queensland and not that far from my home, now that I moved from Canberra to the Lockyer Valley. A definite bonus. 
My main interest in horse sports lies in Classical Dressage, so when I was looking for a method to become a better horse person and rider using Natural Horsemanship I was looking for a method which would help me in my quest to regain confidence which I lost due to way to many falls off horses. I found Quantum Savvy by chance but I was instantly attracted to its philosophies, teachings and above all the student support it offered.
I ordered my first lesson pack and also formed a Practise Group with like minded friends. We held our first play in November 05, followed by other events including a barefoot trimming workshop and a Release Focused Training clinic with Shane and Meredith Ransley. The focus of our Practise Group was to provide a friendly, supportive environment so every member can achieve their horsemanship goals with their horses, regardless of equestrian background and interest.
I was the Group Organiser for the “Gungahlin Horse Whisperers” for 12 months and the experiences gained during that time will come in handy in facilitating the “Lockyer Riders” journey towards fulfilling their horsemanship dreams using Quantum Savvy. I am now in my third year as their Group Organiser and last year I stepped up my role and became a Quantum Savvy agent.
As a Quantum Savvy agent I now supervise Practise Groups and work with Group Organisers in my are to help QS students and inform the horse owners in our area about our activities and how much we can and have achieved by following the QS programme. As a QS agent I also provide Programme Coaching and mentor students so they can achieve their goals in the timeframe they set for themselves.
The Quantum Savvy Programme is based on ‘Release Focused Training’TM which has 3 important Principles at its heart:
- Horses should always have options
- Horses learn by when comfort is offered
- Success is found by following a repeatable programme.
